TOKYO – The Deputy-Delegate of Japan Cav. Gr. Cr. Dr. Hieto Tomabechi, representing the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy and the Japanese Delegation, personally met the Vice President of the Japanese Red Cross Mr. Yoshiharu Otsuka at the Association’s headquarters.
Purpose of the visit was the delivery of a 10,000 € donation, a gesture that testifies the constant commitment to the humanitarian causes that distinguishes the work of all the Delegations throughout the world.
Japanese Red Cross represents one of the most efficient and dynamic realities in the big family of the International Red Cross and thanks to its preparation in 2011, following the great national disaster caused by the tsunami that hit the east coast of Japan, its response was prompt and effective.
The Association counts a team of almost 2,550 nurses, trained for psychological support (many of which also qualified as trainers) who provided a critical and immediate support soon after the tsunami and still continue to assist many of the people who found themselves in trouble after the tragic event.
This donation to the Japanese Red Cross therefore represent an important support to a country that faces several emergency situations due to its high seismicity.
Receipt of the donation received by the Japanese Red Cross for a total amount of 1,360,000 yen, equivalent to 10,000 € at the current exchange rate.
