CATANIA – Sunday, March 18, in the church of San Camillo ai Crociferi in Catania, the Holy Mass was celebrated in solemn form for the Easter precept and in memory of T.R.M. King Umberto II (whose 35th anniversary of the disappearance occurred) and Queen Maria Josè. The Rev. Don Andrea Di Paola, 1st Chaplain of the Navy, Vicar for Messina of the dynastic Orders, assisted by the Rector of the Church, the Rev. Don Rosario Romeo, officiated the rite.
The function, animated by the master organist Nino Di Blasi, President of the Academy of Music Alessandro Scarlatti, welcomed the members of the Teutonic Order of the Commandery of Santa Venera al Pozzo and the Provincial Inspector of the Voluntary Nurses of the Italian Red, Isabella Santagati, together with a representation of the body. To the sound of the Sardinian anthem, the procession was opened by the provincial representatives of the National Institute for the Honor Guard to the Royal Tombs at the Pantheon in Catania, Enna, Caltanissetta, Palermo and Trapani, the banners of the Vicariate of Agrigento, Enna, and Caltanissetta and the Delegation for Sicily of the Dynastic Orders, followed by the Guards of Honor and the honored. Also present there the Delegate for Sicily the Vicar for Palermo and Deputy Delegate, gr. uff. amm. Giuseppe Siragusa, the Vicar for Ragusa comm. adv. Francesco Garofalo and the Vicar for Syracuse comm. Francesco Maiore, the councilors of the delegation cav.uff. Giuseppe Restifo and cav. uff. ing. Salvatore Caruso, who has also took care for the organization of the event as INGORTP Delegate in Catania.
At the end of the ceremony, the annual publication of the Delegation for Sicily of the Dynastic Orders, was given to those present as a gift by the Vicariate for Syracuse.
