ON THE OCCASION OF THE LITURGICAL FEAST OF BLESSED MARIE CHRISTINE OF SAVOY, THE LOMBARD DELEGATION ORGANISED A CONVIVIAL GATHERING IN FAVOUR OF THE MUS.E PROJECT
Milan – 31 January 2020. The Magistral Delegation of Lombardy celebrated the first Holy Mass of the year, on the occasion of the liturgical feast of Blessed Marie Christine of Savoy, Queen of the Two Sicilies, at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Milan.
Around eighty Knights and Dames of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy attended the Eucharistic Celebration, which was presided over by Mgr. Giuseppe Scotti, Secretary Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications and President Emeritus of the Joseph Ratzinger Foundation, together with around ten Knights and Dames of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and some representatives of the “Convegni di Cultura Maria Cristina di Savoia”.
During his Homily, Mgr. Scotti recalled the heroic virtues of the Holy Queen and encouraged all Brothers and Sisters to imitate her as a model of faith and industriousness. After the Holy Mass, the participants met for a charity event in the halls of Palazzo Cusani, the headquarters of the Lombardy Army Military Command.
The proceeds from the event were entirely donated to MUS-E, an educational project aimed at supporting children and teenagers living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods by teaching them visual arts and music. The first project involves the Grand Chancellery and the Delegations of Piedmont, Lombardy, Lazio and Campania.
MUS-E is aimed primarily at schools in towns and cities and in neighborhoods where socio-economic and cultural disadvantage is at its highest levels, with the desire to combat educational poverty and give the same opportunities in terms of learning and personal growth to all children.
For schools and families, the activity of the MUS-E laboratories is completely free. It is made up of weekly meetings during the curricular hours throughout the year plus a final party together with their parents.
In one single evening the Delegation for Lombardy managed to raise the necessary funds and thus respond to the appeal launched by the Grand Chancellery for the MUS.E project.
The atmosphere and the chivalrous spirit that united the Dames and the Knights who were present, in fraternal exultation with the Constantinian Brothers and with a large participation of Guards of Honour to the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon, was filled with poignant moments to remember.
