New York – Saturday 14 December 2019
The Delegation for the United States of America of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy (with the support of the related American Savoy Foundation) promoted its 22nd annual charity winter gala luncheon: the traditional Savoy Ball (Ballo di Savoia), which was held on Saturday 14 December 2019 in New York City. Guests of honour included H.R.H. Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy and H.R.H. Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, together with over 300 supporters, sponsors and guests who made it possible for the Dynastic Orders to raise a significant amount of funds to support various charitable activities as part of a programme to favour of the NY Foundling Summer Camp 2020 for young people in foster care.
During the evening H.R.H. Prince of Piedmont and Venice praised the success of the Delegation and of the Foundation. “It is so gratifying for me to witness how wonderfully the Delegation lives the chivalric traditions of the Dynastic Orders of my House and how it has been renewed, creatively expanding its many activities”, he said.
Compared to European countries, the United States of America is a relatively young nation, and its spirit of innovation constitutes a great virtue for the Delegation of Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy.
The next Savoy Ball is scheduled for Saturday 12 December 2020 at the Metropolitan Club in New York.
