The Delegation for Sicily of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy patronised a Holy Mass in memory of TT.MM. the King Umberto II and Queen Maria Josè promoted by the Messina Delegation of the National Institute for the Guard of Honour to the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon, led by Cav. Dr. David Truscello.
The service was presided over by Msgr. Cesare Di Pietro, Auxiliary Bishop of Messina, assisted by the Vicar of the Orders, Cav. Rev. Andrea Di Paola, by the Chaplain of the V Infantry Regiment “Aosta”, Rev. Paolo Solidoro, and by Father Pietro Roma of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual at the Military Shrine of Christ the King, where the bodies of war victims from Messina are buried.
The initiative was officially endorsed by the Army and Navy authorities in Messina, the Provincial Inspectorate of Volunteer Nurses of the Italian Red Cross, who took part in it with a large representation, the Blue Ribbon Institute and the Convegni di Cultura Maria Cristina di Savoia.
