The Delegate of the Orders of the Royal House of Savoy for Malta, H.E. Ambassador Professor George A. Said-Zammit, recently attended the Chapter General of the Royal House of Savoy for the first time since the re-foundation of the Delegation of Malta earlier this year. The three-day Chapter General was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
On Friday 7 October the Delegate for Malta attended the Delegates’ Meeting, presided by His Royal Highness Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, Prince of Piemonte, and the Grand Chancellor of the Royal House of Savoy His Excellency Johannes Niederhauser. In this meeting, a full presentation gave a summary of all the work carried out by the Royal House of Savoy since the Chapter General of 2021. The Delegates from different parts of Italy as well as from a number of countries, including Malta, Japan, France, Canada, Switzerland, Monaco, Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland), Spain and the USA, had the opportunity to provide their views and feedback and to discuss the future endeavours and projects that the Royal House is supporting. Professor Said-Zammit also gave his views about the importance of the Delegates’ Meeting.
On the following day, the Delegate attended the Solemn Investiture presided over by Prince Emanuele Filiberto and the highest Dignitaries of the Royal House of Savoy. The ceremony, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel (Geneva), included the admissions of new Knights and Dames as well as promotions to higher ranks into the Military and Religious Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus and the Civil Order of Savoy. The Delegate for Malta was promoted to the rank of Knight Officer.
In the evening a Gala Dinner was organized at the same Hotel, funds from which were intended to support the various charitable projects of the Royal House of Savoy. The main hall of the Hotel was fully packed with members of the Orders of the Royal House and guests. The Dinner was under the distinguished patronage of our beloved Grand Master His Royal Highness Prince Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy Prince of Naples, His Royal Highness Prince Emanuele Filiberto, and the highest Dignitaries of the Royal House of Savoy.


On Sunday 9 October Solemn Mass was said at the Abbey of St. Maurice at Valais. The church was the spiritual venue for more than four hundred Knights and Dames of the Orders of the Royal House of Savoy hailing from different parts of Italy and from different countries around the world.
