DURING THE VISIT OF PRINCE EMANUELE FILIBERTO TO THE DELEGAZIONE GRAN MAGISTRALE OF LOMBARDY, AND ALSO TO THE GRAN GALA OF MEDA, HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS ATTENDED VARIOUS OTHER EVENTS, INCLUDING A DELIGHTFUL TOUR IN VINTAGE CARS ORGANISED BY THE  SCUDERIA SAVOIA CAVALLERIA AND A PRIVATE MEETING WITH THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE REGION OF LOMBARDY ATTILIO FONTANA.

Lombardy – The intense two days spent in Lombardy by H.R.H. Prince Emanuele Filiberto was a succession of meetings and social-cultural events where he came into close contact with local associations and members of the various Delegations.

On 10 June, the Scuderia Savoia Cavalleria, in particular, organised a delightful visit to the historical villas in Brianza in vintage cars. The spirit of the event was to bring to life the cars which are frequently used by the owners, within the villas which are homes and not museums, residences inhabited by the members of the families who have inherited them and patiently keep them open, so that they can share important pieces of history.

After departing from the Villa Reale in Monza, for many years the home of the Royal Family, the first stop was at the home of Count Marcello Bassi Brugntelli who, in his splendid villa built between the XIV and XVIII centuries in Robbiate, welcomed the visitors with an aperitif in the park followed by lunch. In the afternoon the next stop was at  Missaglia at villa Sormani Uva, before the rendezvous at Meda for the Gran Gala.

Among the cars taking part were the 1926 Fiat 509, a one-off version produced in Milan, the saloon Fiat 515 of 1930 also the only one of its kind and the splendid Fiat 514 torpedo of 1929, preserved intact, with which His Royal Highness took part in the Milan-Sanremo Race last year.

His Royal Highness also gave an interview to the prestigious international magazine Forbes mentioning the cultural commitment of the Scuderia Savoia Cavalleria to bring the name and prestige of Italy all over the world and to valorise the Made in Italy brand. A commitment which under the banners of the Royal Family, is achieving such great success.

Monday 11 finally His Royal Highness was received by the President of the Region of Lombardy,  Attilio Fontana, who, during a cordial conversation in his private office agreed with Prince  Emanuele Filiberto the importance of the historical legacy of the House of Savoy for the city of Milan and for Lombardy and the rediscovery of a profound national identity, also daughter of the Risorgimento, as an indispensable mould for the social and civil progress of the Country.
