On Sunday, 16 October, the first presentation of the book La Pasta e i Savoia da Manfredi di Sicilia a Margherita di Savoia influencer degli Italiani by Cav. Franco Di Guardo, author of the successful book I siciliani i dolci e i Savoia, took place at the Viagrande Town Hall in the historic Palazzo Turrisi Grifeo Partanna. The event, promoted by the Council for Culture of the Municipality of Viagrande and sponsored by the Pestalozzi Comprehensive School of Catania and by the Ristoworld Italia Association, was inaugurated with greetings from Mayor Franco Leonardi. Several speeches were delivered by journalists, Ristoworld chefs and personalities present at the event.
Finally, a tasting of the historic “torta Savoia” prepared by the students of the Pestalozzi school was offered to the large and qualified audience. The volume, published by Algra editore, has a preface by HRH Prince Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, who was portrayed on the cover by Catanese cartoonist Fabia Mustica.
The first copy of the volume was donated by the author to HRH Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy during the General Chapter of the Orders held in Geneva on 8 October.
