GENERAL CHAPTER ODDCS TURIN, 26–27 SEPTEMBER – CHARITY GALA, VENARIA REALE

Saturday, 26 September 2026, came to a close in the magnificent setting of the Venaria Reale, where the traditional Charity Gala of the General Chapter of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy was held. More than 500 guests attended the evening, an occasion that successfully brought together the institutional and convivial dimensions of the Chapter with the tangible value of solidarity. During the Gala, H.R.H. the Grand Master addressed the guests, emphasising the importance of charitable commitment and of supporting organisations that work every day to assist those in need.

The evening was attended by numerous distinguished personalities from Royal and Princely Houses and aristocratic families from around the world. Alongside H.R.H. the Grand Master were H.R.H. Princess Elena of Yugoslavia, H.R.H. Prince Leka of Albania and H.I.H. Princess Victoria Romanova, as well as the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Sir William Worsley, 11th Baronet of Hovingham, and many other distinguished guests, ladies and knights who had travelled from various countries.

Among the guests was also a delegation from the Kawasaki Racing Team, which wished to pay a particularly meaningful tribute to H.R.H. the Grand Master. During the evening, the Prince was presented with the motocross bike that had played a leading role in the World Championship victory, specially customised for the occasion. The presentation of the motorcycle was one of the most original moments of the event, bringing the world of international motorsport and sporting excellence into the setting of the Gala.

The deeper meaning of the evening lay in its charitable purpose: the proceeds from the Gala will be used to establish a paediatric palliative care outpatient clinic at the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital in Turin. The new service will support young patients and their families following discharge from the hospice, providing follow-up care, regular assessments, support for caregivers and coordination with local healthcare and social services. A central role will be entrusted to the nurse case manager, who will serve as a point of reference for families, the hospital team and local services. The project also includes the adaptation of the facilities and the provision of the equipment necessary to make the outpatient clinic fully operational. It is precisely in this dimension that the evening found its most authentic meaning: behind the elegance of the Venaria Reale, the presence of distinguished guests and the convivial moments, there was a genuine desire to support a project dedicated to those facing an especially delicate situation every day. In this way, the tradition of the Dynastic Orders was brought together with a tangible expression of solidarity, transforming the evening into an opportunity to provide support and stand alongside the families of the Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital.

The evening concluded with the evocative Water Theatre of the Fontana del Cerco, accompanied by a spectacular musical water display.
