A MASS FOR THE INAUGURATION OF THE VICARIATE OF IMPERIA, PART OF THE LIGURIAN DELEGATION OF THE DYNASTIC ORDERS OF THE HOUSE OF SAVOY, WAS CELEBRATED ON 8 FEBRUARY IN IMPERIA.
IMPERIA ONEGLIA – A holy mass for the inauguration of the Vicariate of Imperia, part of the Ligurian Delegation of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, was celebrated on 8 February in the Basilica of San Giovanni in Imperia Oneglia. The Sacred Rite was presided over by His Excellency Monsignor Alberto Maria Careggio, Prior of the Ligurian Delegation and formerly Bishop of the Diocese of Ventimiglia – Sanremo and, for many years, trekking companion of Pope St. John Paul II. The service was concelebrated by Cav. Msgr. Ennio Bezzone, the new chaplain of the newly founded Vicariate.
The service was attended by Cav. Dr. Valerio Ruggiero, delegate for Liguria of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, the new Vicar of Imperia Cav. Col. Giuseppe Criscuolo, Comm. Alberto Di Maria – Secretary of the Heraldic Commission, External Collaborator of the Grand Chancellery and Trustee for the Lombard Delegation of the Dynastic Orders, the dama di commenda prof. Franca Sciaraffia – Senator of the Kingdom of Italy, the Uff. Stefano Pietrafraccia – Councilor of the Ligurian Delegation of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy.
At the end of the service, the Delegate for Liguria Cav. Dr. Valerio Ruggiero thanked those present and in particular Monsignor Careggio, Cav. Col. Criscuolo and the Cav. Mgr. Ennio Bezzone for accepting their respective roles. A message sent by the Prince and Grand Master of the Orders, H.R.H. Vittorio Emanuele, was then read.
The Holy Mass was followed by a short charity party, the proceeds from which will be donated to needy families in the Parish.
