HOLY MASS IN COMMEMORATION OF THE BIRTH IN CAGLIARI DELLA BEATA MARIA CRISTINA EFISIA OF SAVOY.

CAGLIARI – On Sunday, November 26 this Grand Magistral Delegation commemorated the 205th anniversary of the birth in Cagliari of the Blessed Maria Cristina Efisia of Savoy with a participatory religious ceremony in the beautiful Cathedral of Cagliari.

At 12 o’clock the Delegation of the Order of Saints Maurizio and Lazzaro entered in procession in the Cathedral of Cagliari together with the Delegation of the praiseworthy Guards of honor of the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon, Alfiere the Meritorious M.llo C. (GDF) Giacomo Ciaralli.

Together with the Flag of the Delegation of Cagliari and coordinated by the Delegate Cav. Luciano Piga, present a representation of the praiseworthy Guards of honor at the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon which also ensured the escort to the Effigy of Blessed Maria Cristina of Savoy.

A large group of representatives of the “Beata Maria Cristina di Savoia” Cultural Conventions coordinated by the President of the Cagliari delegation Dr. Donatella Cortese Gavassino, participated in the celebration in the Cathedral, crowded with faithful.

As was customary, the sisters and confreres intervened to give the parish priest Monsignor don Alberto Pala a significant cash offer among those present and destined for charitable activities set up by the parish of Santa Cecilia.

Before the Memorial, the Delegation met in the Crypt of the Cathedral of Cagliari, better known as the Sanctuary of the Martyrs (*), where the Brother Cav. Uff. Rev. Don Alberto Pala, parish priest of the Cathedral, blessed the signs and diplomas that were given to the new confreres.
The Grand Magistral Delegate proceeded to deliver the Insignia and Diplomas to Cav. (OSSML) don Raimondo Mameli, parish priest of Santa Margherita di Pula (CA) and to Cav. (OSSML) Dr. Umberto Oppus, long Mayor of Mandas (CA) and now Director General of the National Association of Italian Municipalities. To the Confratello Cav.Uff. (WHO) Rag. Pietro Pisu was given the prestigious Bronze Medal of the Order of Saints Maurizio and Lazzaro, fair recognition of his longstanding commitment to support the highest values ??of the Italian Royal House and the Savoy Dynastic Orders.

Delegate finally delivered the Silver Medal of the Order of Saints Maurizio and Lazzaro to Cav. Gr. Cr. (OSSML) Cav. Nob. Prof. Don Enrico Sanjust of the Barons of Teulada, in his capacity as President of the Council of Sardinian Delegation. The medal was assigned by the LL.AA.RR. Princes Vittorio Emanuele and Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia as a particular sign of appreciation for all the charitable and philanthropic activities carried out in recent years.

At the end of the ceremony, those present gathered at the restaurant “Il Gusto” in Cagliari, where, in addition to having a pleasant breakfast, they could discuss the various activities of the Delegation.

The Delegate, after having brought the greeting of the Confreres and the absent Consorelle, of the Brother Cav. Uff. (OSSML) Giovanni Spezziga, a ninety-eight year old man and the Honorary President of the Delegation Comm. (OSSML) Nob. Cav. Ten. Col. Don Antonio Grondona, both absent for health reasons, presented a brief report on the activities of the Delegation recalling the many past initiatives, the important results achieved and illustrating the future commitments.
