MILANO-SANREMO, AN ALL-FEMALE TEAM WAS AWARDED WITH A CUP BY THE ROYAL HOUSE OF SAVOIA DYANSTIC ORDERS FOR THE FAMOUS RACE

March 28th, 29th, 30th, 2019: the much-awaited Milano-Sanremo, the oldest car race in Italy, is back. The Dynastic Orders participate with a trophy.

The Milano-Sanremo cup is the oldest automobile race in Italy (1906) and was won in 1933 by H.R.H. Prince Adalberto Savoia-Genova, Duke of Bergamo. For the commemoration of the cup, the Savoia Savalleria racing stable was officially invited to collaborate by the organizers and ACI Milano (represented by the association’s President, Attorney Geronimo La Russa) in order to ensure a successful sporting event.

Throughout the duration (March 28th-29th-30th)  of the race, which progressed from Monza through Milan, Vigevano, Alessandria, Novi Ligure, Rapallo, Loano, Sanremo (the official finish line) and then proceeded to Montecarlo, the car driven by H.R.H. the Prince of Piemonte and Venezia Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, President of the  Grand Magisterial Counsel of the Savoia Royal House Dynastic Orders and of AICODS (International Association of the Savoia Royal House Dynastic Orders) was the object of vibrant and spontaneous displays of fondness.  H.R.H. Prince Serge of Jugoslavia also rode in said vehicle for a few sections of the race.

On March 30tha welcome reception was held at the Riva Yachts Club in Monaco for the end of the race. The event was organized by Riva Yacht and the Monaco Automobile Club and was followed by a gala dinner at the Fairmont Hotel.

Regarding the outcome of the race, His Royal Highness’ n° corsa 73 vehicle won the main sponsors’ prize. While the Fair Play Cup, which was offered by the Savoia Royal House Dynastic Orders, was conferred to the all-female team made up of Sara Cagliero and Tae Serafini who drove a 1967 Fiat Dino 2000 spider.

 H.R.H. Prince Emanuele Filiberto was the guest of honour of the gala dinner at the Fairmont Hotel in Montecarlo. H.R.H. was truly the star of this event, to the point that the organizers’ committee expressed the wish that for the next edition of the race the August Prince would become the race’s official patron, also on behalf of ACI Milano, ACI Sport and Monaco’s Automobile Club.
