MUS-E TORINO AND ITS ART WORKSHOP

Thanks to the support of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, MUS-E Torino’s latest art workshop has begun. The project is aimed at stimulating children’s creativity and learning the values of community life.

The Covid-19 emergency has had an impact on each and every one of us. In different ways, each of us has had to deal with home confinement, social distancing and the inability to see friends and loved ones. For many children, the pandemic has had an even more dangerous, though less noticeable, effect: the closure of schools in March 2020 and the intermittent reopenings in the last year, alternated with distance learning, has caused serious difficulties for children, especially those already suffering from various social, economic and cultural weaknesses.

Being able to resume MUS-E workshops in person was therefore a great opportunity for them and it is for this reason that, in 2020/21, the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy considered it essential to renew their support for the programme.

The children of class 4D at the Istituto Perotti in Turin undertook a particularly innovative educational project with an exceptional artist, Vincenzo Gioanola. Thanks to the director’s support, the young students were able to write a story and make drawings to create an animation and finally write a screenplay.

The children told the story of a journey into space, of encounters with strange little blue men, a narrative enriched by music (and who knows.. maybe children really do have a huge desire to travel!). At the end of the project, a video will be made and the whole class will be able to travel with their imagination, under the guidance of the artist’s voice and with the accompaniment of beautiful music.

The workshop is not only a useful opportunity to stimulate the children’s creativity, but also a place to learn the value of constructive interaction with others.

Continue to support the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy in their collaboration with MUS-E!
