BUENOS AIRES – In a very special environment of deep and great emotional intensity, the headquarters of the “Zoonrisas” Foundation was inaugurated in “Campo de Mayo”, with facilities suitable for treatment for children in need of alternative therapy.
The facilities for hippotherapy are located at the “Campo de Mayo”, a vast military area of ??about 8,000 ha, 30 kilometers from the center of the City of Buenos Aires. The place is close to the main centers of the area: Tigre, San Martin, San Miguel, Tres de Febrero and Hurlingham and grants easy access to those who live nearby. The military zone belongs to the Argentine Army, and inside it there are several Commandments, such as the Argentine National Police, the Security Forces and also a detachment of the Argentine Armed Forces. The property also houses a Cavalry Squadron and the Military Riding School.
In this place ZOONRISAS (The “Zoonrisas” Foundation is an ONLUS, non-profit) has obtained permission to fulfill an important social mission aimed at improving the quality of life of sick people with modest resources. The assisted, disabled and with various diseases, are of all ages.
The use of horses has created a healing environment on a playful basis, without diverting attention to the final purpose that is the rehabilitation of the sick. Long story short, treatment with hippotherapy is suggested for people with psychic, physical or sensory difficulties, and highly recommended for young people with marginalization or socially unsuitable.
More specifically, these therapies are indicated for cases of cerebral fibromyalgia, paralysis and brain injury, ACV, Parkinson’s Symptoms, Down Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism, Polytrauma, and many other diseases.
With a great financial effort, the “Banco Provincia-Net” has taken on a financial commitment to improve the lack of facilities to be offered to families accompanying children to rehabilitation courses. With the support and contribution of everyone, but above all with the active collaboration of TCrn. Pablo Plaza, a project was realized that in the first instance seemed utopian, ambitious and impossible.
Today the dream is no longer a mirage, but a reality thanks to the collaboration of all the people who have helped, of all the volunteers and some forces of the Command. And to the coordination of the (Argentinian) Delegation of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy.
During the ceremony a message from H.R.H. Prince Vittorio Emanuele war read to the audience. At the end of the reading, the Italian orchestra intoned the first notes of the Royal March, welcomed by a standing ovation.
We have seen how Hippotherapy can help and cure certain atypical forms of pathologies. The proof is the constant growing of schools of hippotherapy allover the world.
The basis of the work of Zoonrisas is the benevolent and selfless help that volunteers and professionals offer to children (and their families) based on moral values ??and philantropic nature of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy.
