As Christmas is approaching, the Grand Chancellery of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy wishes to share with you two successful solidarity initiatives carried out under the auspices of the White Cross of Savoy, thanks to all the members and supporters of the charitable initiatives promoted under the impulse of H.R.H the Prince Grand Master Vittorio Emanuele and of H.R.H. the Prince of Piedmont and Venice Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy.
In particular, international charity Mercy Ships, which operates in the most disadvantaged and complex areas of the African continent with its own hospital ship, thanks to the contribution of the Dynastic Orders and the proceeds of the gala dinner of the General Chapter held in Nice last September, was able to complete a mission in Senegal treating 51 patients, including 50 children who underwent surgical operations. Also thanks to the support of the Savoy Knightly Forces it will be possible to provide medical treatment to other 86 children Download the report It is a small miracle of solidarity that renews the great tradition of Mauritian hospitals in regions marked by so many wounds to heal.
Rome-based non-profit organisation Peter Pan, which was visited by H.R.H. Prince Emanuele Filiberto last January and which hosts the family members of children who are being treated in hospitals around Rome and in particular at the “Bambino Gesù” hospital, has informed us that, thanks to the contribution of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy and the generosity of our knights Mr. Aswin and Mrs. Thapanee Techajareonvikul – BJC BIGC Foundation of Thailand, 32 families from Italy, Albania, Bulgaria, Guinea, Macedonia, Sri Lanka and Romania were hosted in the room adopted under the Mauritian insignia.
The age range of the children and young people under treatment is quite broad (from 2 to 23 years old, 15 males and 17 females). Six of them were treated in the oncology department and 26 in the hematology department of the Bambino Gesù hospital. Download the report
