Thanks to the donations collected on the occasion of the 2016 Chapter of the Dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy, the Chancellery was able to support the association by covering in 2017 the whole year of renting a room for their Rome office.
The association paid tributes to the Orders for their contribution, posting a plaque of thanksgiving on the door of the room.
Peter Pan’s large house is a shelter for families in need and for children and adolescents suffering from serious illnesses, in particular cancer pathologies, which require specific treatment in centers far from their place of residence.
The association, member of the FIAGOP – National Federation of Parents’ Associations of Children and Adolescents who have contracted tumors or leukemia – and of the CCI – Childhood Cancer International – provides free accommodation and a range of services in collaboration with the main centers doctors of the capital, but not only.
Through a network of volunteers and the support of external associations, Peter Pan also offers emotional and psychological support, a fun and welcoming environment for children, social activities, aggregation and entertainment and an atmosphere of comfort and hospitality for families.
For Peter Pan, the word “hospitality” does not just mean offering the possibility of staying for free in a comfortable environment for the whole time of the therapies; it means recreating a mood of “normality”, whose value is often appreciated only after losing it.
The volunteers of Peter Pan, thanks to their constant presence, help families to overcome that sense of loneliness that usually accompanies the disease. In the fight against illness you are not alone: ??Peter Pan gives you a hand.
