On 19 September, H.R.H. Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, Prince of Piedmont and Venice, attended a Eucharistic celebration at Naples Cathedral on the occasion of the Feast of San Gennaro, which was presided over by the Archbishop of Naples, H.E. Mgr. Domenico Battaglia, and was the guest of honour at a charity gala luncheon organised by the Campania Delegation of the Dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy at the Circolo Nazionale dell’Unione.
Around 200 invitees were present, among them the Dames and Knights of the Dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy, prominent figures of the Neapolitan aristocracy, members of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and several other guests.
During the evening, HRH delivered a heartfelt speech highlighting the deep historical ties between the House of Savoy and the city of Naples.
The funds raised during the event were donated to “Casa Sveva”, a charity facility entrusted to Unitalsi Campania by the parish of San Gioacchino in Naples which plays a key role in providing accommodation for the families of children and young patients receiving treatment at leading paediatric hospitals in Campania, as part of the “Progetto dei Piccoli”.
