The Delegation for Sicily of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy promoted the celebration of a Holy Mass in preparation for the Nativity and to mark the end of the year. On 11 December 2021 at the ancient shrine of San Giuseppe in Enna, the Vicariate for Agrigento-Caltanissetta-Enna took part in a celebration of the sacred rite presided over by the Rev. Giovanni Tandurella, parish priest of the Cathedral of Piazza Armerina, assisted by Rev. Giacomo Zangara, Cav. Uff. OSSML, Deputy of the Dynastic Orders, and Rev. Sebastiano Rossignolo, Parish Priest of San Bartolomeo Apostolo, Cav. OSM.

Comm. Giuseppe Restifo, the Inspector for Sicily of the National Institute for the Guard of Honour to the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon and Cav. Santi Barbera, Delegate for Trapani of the same association took part in the service together with the Dames and Knights of the Vicariate and with the postulants. At the end of the sacred rite, the Delegate for Sicily Gr. Uff. Avv. Francesco Maria Atanasio handed out the diploma and the knightly insignia of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus to Rev. Tandurella.

On December 18, in the century-old Church of Sant’Agata La Vetere in Catania, which served as the city’s Cathedral until the 12th century, on the initiative of the Vicariate of Catania together with the Provincial Delegation of the National Institute for the Guard of Honour to the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon Rev. Gaetano Puleo, member of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese, officiated at the Mass: several Dames, Knights and Guards of Honour were present with the Delegate and Vicar for Catania, Comm. Avv. Giovanni Vanadia and the Provincial Delegate of the Guards of Honour to the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon Cav. Dr. Filippo Cuva.

The Sicilian Delegation also raises funds for CBM ITALIA ONLUS, a charity that provides treatment of ophthalmic diseases to minors in developing countries.
