The event was organised by the Abbot Rev. Jean-Luc Martin, the priest of the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in Orbe. The celebration brought together parishioners, Dames and Knights, families with friends. In honour of the Royal Family, the Reverend Abbot celebrated Holy Mass wearing a splendid white damask chasuble embroidered with Royal arms. These vestments were donated to the Parish by H.M. King Umberto II in 1964.
After the service, Cav. Uff. Gilles Carrier-Dalbion delivered a lecture on the history of the Dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy. The meeting ended with the screening of a superb video made by the Grand Chancellery and dedicated to charitable works carried out over the last year. An aperitif shared with the guests was an opportunity to discover and appreciate the Royal-Seyssel, a famous Savoy wine made by the Delegation of the region of Savoy to finance a kindergarten project for autistic children.
Later, under a radiant sun, the Ladies and Knights met again for lunch at the Vieille Auberge de Valleyres-sous-Rances, a 16th-century inn, and were honoured by the presence of the Grand Master, H.R.H. Prince Vittorio Emanuele, who was highly acclaimed by the many present and by TT.EE. the Grand Chancellor and Knight of the Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation Johannes Theo Niederhauser and the Grand Treasurer and Knight of the Grand Cross Nicolas Gagnebin.
Faithful to their chivalrous commitment, before the end of the event the Knights and Dames of the Swiss Delegation made a donation to support the poor assisted by the Catholic parish association of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in Orbe.
