The Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, through A.I.C.O.D.S. and on the impulse of HRH the Prince of Piedmont and of Venice, Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, continue to believe in the children of Mus-e Italia, an organisation whose aim is to combat educational poverty through high-level arts projects in Italian schools.
The workshops are continuing in all the classes supported by the Savoy knightly forces: in Milan the artists have been teaching since November, while in Turin, Rome, Lecce, Bologna and Verona they started in January, with a slight delay due to the pandemic.
The children’s initial enthusiasm in seeing the artists again is continuing during the activities and in Rome they are drawing inspiration from great artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Van Gogh, experimenting with other workshop techniques.
The knowledge and discovery of new artistic techniques lies at the heart of these courses, during which children work with watercolours, coloured chalks and use newspaper tears and multi-coloured paper.
In Verona the main theme of the workshops organised by Mus-e is nature: a class of 25 children is discovering elements such as water and fire, air and earth. Each natural element is unique and wonderful and, starting from this concept, the children are encouraged to reflect on the uniqueness that is inside each of us.
In Fermo the children are flying on the wings of fantasy thanks to the wonderful and eclectic character of Don Quixote, who is accompanying the children in reflecting on the themes of identity and personality.
Some others are working on the theme of community values, for example in Turin, while in Bologna they are putting their hands to work thanks to ceramics, with which the children are shaping incredible characters to make a video of which they will be the directors.
In Lecce, creative writing meets dance to educate them about emotions and develop empathy, helping to improve learning thanks to the originality and added value of art. Children are approaching the language of theatre through story building and a passion for improvisation.
For us at the Dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy, children and their well-being are always at the heart of what we do and we are proud to be supporting Mus-e.
We are happy to keep you updated with all the great news from different Italian cities.
