THE DELEGATION FOR SICILY PARTICIPATES IN THE RITES FOR THE FEAST OF THE CORPUS DOMINI

Last June 19th on the feast of the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, a delegation of the Dynastic Orders of Savoy took part in the solemn pontifical ceremony, officiated by H.E. Mgr. Antonio Staglianò, Bishop of Noto, Prior for Sicily, Grand Officer of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus and Cav. Gr. Cr. of the Order of Merit of Savoy, in the Cathedral Basilica of San Nicolò in Noto, which was declared a “national monument” by H.M. King Victor Emmanuel III. After attending the Holy Mass, accompanied by the Lorenzo Perosi Cathedral Choir, the members of the Orders took part in the procession that departed from the Cathedral Basilica and passed through the main streets of the baroque city, including Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and ended at the church of San Pietro, where the bishop imparted the final blessing with the Blessed Sacrament. The members followed the Faithful Bearers of San Corrado and the ancient religious Confraternities of Noto and preceded the clergy and the baldachin with the Blessed Sacrament.

At the end, the delegate with the knights present honoured the Prior and priests belonging to the Dynastic Orders.
