On Saturday, 10 December, an event was held in the Valle d’Aosta in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elena on the 70th anniversary of her death. The day began with a guided tour with Cav. Ronny Borbey of Sarre Castle, which was often visited by the Queen. A Holy Mass was then celebrated at the Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso in Aosta, where the headquarters of the Aosta Valley Delegation is located, and the day ended with a dinner at the ethical restaurant «Compes de Challant» in Fénis. The dinner was preceded by a brief moment of remembrance of the Queen with Delegate Comm. Giovanni Girardini. The day was organised with a charitable purpose to support a school in Madagascar run by the nuns of the Istituto San Giuseppe in Aosta, which the Delegation had already helped to renovate last year. The day was attended by a fair number of members of the Delegation, but above all by guests from outside the Delegation who showed their appreciation for the initiative with their financial support.
