Prof. Antonio Cassanelli, Knight of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus, has recently published in the magazine “Nobiltà” a much appreciated article concerning the Holy Shroud and its importance in the history of the Royal House of Savoy, which is strongly bound to this renowned relic. The Shroud was donated by the Dynasty to the Roman Pontiff in 1983 according to the will of HM King Umberto II. Prof. Cassanelli also gave a lecture on the subject as part of the Course of Studies on the Holy Shroud at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.
