The Delegation for Lazio of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, responding to the appeal made by TT.RR.HH. Prince Vittorio Emanuele and Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy and by H.E. the Grand Chancellor, Johannes Theo Niederhauser, Knight of the Most Holy Annunciation, immediately promoted a project to support volunteers working with the Italian Civil Protection Agency who work on the frontline in this emergency.
By order of the President of the regional government of Lazio of 25 March 2020, the Municipality of Nerola (in the province of Rome) was declared a total red zone, making it impossible for anyone to enter and/or leave the municipal area.
Alessandro Ortenzi, a young Knight from the Lazio Delegation, an Official Knight of the Order of Merit of Savoy and Secretary of the local Section of the Civil Protection Agency, immediately contacted the Delegate, Comm. Avv. Alfonso Marini Dettina, to intervene promptly in support of the association. All the Delegation’s members immediately took action and responded generously to the appeal by making donations.
Thanks to the support of the Delegation, Civil Protection Volunteers operating in the red area of Nerola are sanitizing streets every evening and delivering food, clothes, medicines, masks, disposable gloves and anything else that may be needed by the elderly and by people in difficulty in the community. The situation is constantly monitored by the Spallanzani Institute of Infectious Diseases in Rome, which is studying the evolution of the epidemic.
The fundraiser is always open. Please contact the Delegation for any information you may need.
