An exhibition comprising artworks and documents titled The Savoy, a Thousand Year Old Dynasty. From Humbert Whitehand to Vittorio Emanuele has been set up at Palazzo Moncada in Caltanissetta at the initiative of the Sicily Delegation and of the Provincial Delegation of the National Institute for the Guard of Honour at the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon.
The exhibition includes over forty historical portraits of the Counts and Dukes of Savoy, who ruled Sicily and Sardinia from 1713 and the Kingdom of Italy from 1861, as well as iconographic documents, prints, advertising posters, decorations, medals, historical banners, patents of suppliers to the Royal House, coinage, publications and leaflets from national and Sicilian collections.
The exhibition, under the patronage of the National Institute for the Guard of Honour at the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon and with the support of the Municipality and Pro Loco of Caltanissetta, was inaugurated on 11 November, the birthday of H.M. King Vittorio Emanuele III, with a public presentation to the press and local television stations, and will remain open for one week.
