In response to the devastating impact of COVID-19, instead of cancelling its West Coast spring charity gala, The American Foundation of Savoy Orders relaunched the Third Annual Notte di Savoia Los Angeles – previously scheduled for April 4, 2020 at the Montage Resort in Beverly Hills, into a virtual fundraising event benefiting Caterina’s Club. After announcing the change to an all-online format, over $60,000 was raised in just one week from the virtual event. Originally scheduled to end on May 13, the event has been extended to May 31, 2020 with the goal of reaching the same $100,000 level of donations that went to in 2019 to beneficiary Caterina’s Club, which has made it its mission to not miss a single day of feeding the kids. Chef Bruno Serato and the Caterina’s Club staff are working daily with every program location to ensure kids can be fed a fresh pasta dinner, in keeping with the Savoy Foundation’s “Chivalry for Children’s Causes™” charitable mandate from HRH Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, the hereditary Crown Prince of Italy. The Savoy Foundation is encouraging donating online, perhaps in the amount guests were planning to give or spend on gala tickets at the Notte di Savoia event on April 4. The online giving event is open and runs through May 31, 2020.
