“WINDOWS ON ART”: A MUS-E PROJECT SUPPORTED BY THE DYNASTIC ORDERS OF THE ROYAL HOUSE OF SAVOY TO PROMOTE CREATIVITY AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN CHILDREN

For the fourth consecutive year, the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoy, through AICODS, have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Mus-e Italia Foundation’s educational initiative aimed at combating educational poverty in primary schools through the medium of art in seven Italian cities.

The funds raised for the foundation came partly from a charity gala dinner organised by the Turin Delegation last May in the presence of H.R.H. Emanuele Filiberto, and they have been donated for this special project, together with contributions from other Delegations of the Orders. The project involves Bologna, Fermo, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Rome and Turin.

The theme of this year’s workshops is “Finestre sull’arte” and it is interpreted in each class through different art forms. Windows have always symbolised transition: from the inner self to the outer world, from the intimacy and security of home and family to the curiosity of the world beyond. In art, too, windows have long served as a vantage point for exploring emotions, especially those crucial to children’s development: hope, happiness, empathy, resilience.

The choice of a unifying theme is aimed at creating a unique project, capable of uniting virtually all participating children, thereby reinforcing the principles of collaboration and interdisciplinary learning.
